Starting Nov. 4, a self-defense class will be held at Oakhurst Community Park from 4 to 5 p.m. every Wednesday as part of a senior project by Yosemite High School students Hannah Morrison and Michaela Gray.
Under the direction of Matt Sconce, with a black belt in martial arts, students will be taught how to defend themselves from oncoming attackers.
A $5 donation is suggested, with all donations given to Naomi’s House, a safe haven for women in Fresno.
On sunny days, the class will be held in the park. For colder days, warmer clothing is suggested, and on rainy days, classes will be under the hangover in the park.
Ages 10 and up are welcome to join.
