Madera Fair results

The Madera Fair was the Sept. 1-12. At the Madera Fair, 4-H and FFA kids can show animals like sheep, goat, chickens, pigs, turkeys, rabbits, and beef and sell them in the junior livestock auction. A lot of animals are sold at the fair. These animals are sold for meet or to be pets and resold.

Sponsors buy the animals at the fair. Kids use the money they earn from selling their animals to take care of other animals or buy more animals. Some of the winners were:

I would like to congratulate all the winners and thank all the sponsors and buyers. The buyers help us to keep raising quality animals and continue our livestock projects.

Two new projects have been added to our club this year, dog obedience and archery. In dog obedience, you go to the meetings and train your dog to be shown at fair. In archery, meetings will be held with shooting sports at the shooting range.

Our leader is Pat Strimling and if you would like to join, call her at (559) 683-5149. Anyone can join. You don’t have to be a student at Coarsegold Elementary to be a member of Coarsegold 4-H. You can live anywhere in Madera County as long as you can come to our meetings.
