Assaults, vandalism, and narcotics in Oakhurst

In response to 90 calls from the week of Sept. 7 to Sept. 13, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office saw a spree of at least nine alleged crimes take place in the 40000 block of Highway 41 near the Fresno River bridge, including multiple narcotics violations, fraud, vandalism, and assaults. Arrests followed several of the calls for service.

Oakhurst

* Sept. 7: A report was taken on an assault victim in the area of Highway 41 and Golden Oak Loop.

* Sept. 7: Report written on a cold burglary at a home in the 38000 block of Sierra Lakes Drive.

* Sept. 7: A suspect with outstanding warrants was arrested in the 40000 block of Highway 41 and booked at Madera County Jail.

* Sept. 8: Possible vandalism to a vehicle on school grounds at Yosemite High School.

* Sept. 8: A suspect with outstanding warrants was arrested in the 42000 block of Highway 41, and booked at Madera County Jail.

* Sept. 9: Gasoline reportedly stolen from a parked vehicle in the 49000 block of Golden Oak Drive.

* Sept. 9: A business in the 40000 block of Highway 41 was vandalized. Report taken, and case was closed.

* Sept. 9: Deputy was unable to identify a suspect in the 40000 block of Highway 41 related to a reported road rage assault.

* Sept. 9: A female Yosemite High student was found in possession of marijuana.

* Sept. 10: Burglary reported at a recreational trailer in the 49000 block of Hartwell Road. Several items were stolen from inside the trailer, as well as a battery attached to its exterior frame. Numerous fingerprints and other physical evidence was taken at the scene.

* Sept. 10: Narcotics violation reported at the 40000 block of Highway 41.

* Sept. 10: Gasoline reported stolen from a vehicle in the 49000 block of Golden Oak Drive, for the second time in two days.

* Sept. 10: Battery stolen from a vehicle in the 39000 block of Road 425B.

* Sept. 10: Fraud reported in the 40000 block of Highway 41.

* Sept. 10: Deputy responded to assault near a business in the 40000 block of Highway 41. Upon arrival, victim had left the scene. No arrests made, case closed.

* Sept. 10: A female slapped another female in the 40000 block of Highway 41. No arrests made, no evidence obtained, and no charges filed.

* Sept. 11: Someone in the 40000 block of Highway 41 wanted to talk to a deputy about shoplifting. When contacted, the person had a warrant as well as drug paraphernalia in his possession, and was arrested.

* Sept. 11: Two people sleeping in a vehicle behind a business in the 40000 block of Highway 41 were contacted, and had marijuana in the car. Case referred to the district attorney’s office.

* Sept. 11: Deputy investigated possible fraud at a bank in the 40000 block of Highway 49 related to elder abuse and embezzlement.

* Sept. 11: Two juveniles stole liquor from a business in the 40000 block of Highway 49.

Coarsegold

* Sept. 9: Domestic violence was reported in the 29000 block of Highway 41. Report written and an emergency protective order issued.

North Fork

* Sept. 7: A male was attacked by his brother during a verbal dispute in the area of Road 222 and Old Central Camp Road. Attempts were made to locate the suspect at several locations, but were unsuccessful. Charges were sent to the district attorney’s office for prosecution.

* Sept. 7: A window was shot out, possibly by a pellet, at a home in the 53000 block of Timberview Road.

* Sept. 8: Domestic violence reported in the 32000 block of Road 222. A male suspect was booked into Madera County Jail, and charges were sent to the district attorney’s office.

Bass Lake

* Sept. 7: Theft was reported in the 50000 block of Smoke Tree Trail.

* Sept. 11: At an RV park in the 39000 block of Road 274, tools were reportedly stolen from one of the park’s residents.

* Sept. 13: Theft reported at an unlocked vehicle in the 53000 block of Road 432.

Ahwahnee

* Sept. 12: Residential burglary in the 42000 block of High Point Court.

* Sept. 13: A suspect with outstanding warrants was arrested in the 42000 block of High Point Court.

Wishon

* Sept. 8: While investigating a burglary in the 34000 block of Road 221, a suspect from the alleged crime, also investigated for domestic violence, drove by the home. Deputies gave chase and an arrest was made.
