Two minors killed at Yosemite National Park

Two minors asleep in a tent were killed around 5 a.m. Friday when an oak tree limb fell on them, the National Park Service said.

Rangers said the tragic incident took place in the Upper Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley. Rangers attempted to provide medical assistance, but both minors were deceased on arrival.

The childrens’ names, ages, and places of residence will not be released. The incident remains under investigation.

“Our thoughts are with the families as they grieve this tragedy,” park Superintendent Don Neubacher said.
