State legislators from the Mountain Area will pass through Mariposa, Oakhurst, and Coarsegold Friday, Aug. 21 to meet with the public for questions and to talk about legislation they say will impact each town.
From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., State Senator Tom Berryhill (R-Twain Harte) and Assemblymember Frank Bigelow (R-O’Neals) will meet at the Miner’s Roadhouse in Mariposa, located at 5159 State Highway 140.
At noon, the Republican statesmen, alongside Madera County Board of Supervisors Tom Wheeler from District 5, and Brett Frazier, from District 1, will meet for a public luncheon at the Bass Lake Conference Center. Sponsored by the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce, tickets are $25 per person, $200 for a table of eight, and $75 per business expo table. Ducey’s on the Lake will provide lunch. . At 2 p.m. Bigelow and Berryhill will head to the Coarsegold Chamber of Commerce in the Coarsegold Historic Village. Light refreshments will be provided at both the Mariposa and Coarsegold events. After the Coarsegold meeting, the chamber will hold its traditional August “Wine and Cheese Happy Hour Mixer” with entertainment and prizes.
