Tenaya Lodge has achieved a four Green Key rating through the Green Key Eco-Rating Program, acknowledging its exemplary dedication to environmentally conscious procedures. This is the second-highest ranking on the Green Key scale.
A four Green Key rating demonstrates that Tenaya Lodge has shown leadership and commitment to protecting the environment through its wide-ranging policies and practices. The hotel has programs in place that involve management, employees, guests, and the public, and which have shown substantial and measurable results.
“We’re constantly looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment,” said General Manager Paul Ratchford. “We take pride in keeping our beautiful surroundings just that, to ensure future generations get to experience and enjoy them. We are proud of our team for their roles in this fantastic recognition and look forward to advancing our eco-friendly practices and innovations.”
The recipients of the Keep America Beautiful Award and State of California Waste Reduction Award, Tenaya Lodge leverages its own wastewater treatment plant and water and energy-saving fixtures in every guestroom, uses biodegradable laundry detergent and serves organic and sustainable food products, a few of many green practices the resort employs.
About Green Key
The Green Key Eco-Rating Program is the first of its kind to rank, certify and inspect hotels and resorts in North America based on their commitment to sustainable “green” operations. The program was originally developed for the Hotel Association of Canada by a leading environmental engineering firm.
Designed specifically for hotel operations, the Green Key Eco-Rating Program is a comprehensive environmental self-assessment that will allow each participating property to benefit on several fronts – cost savings, increased bookings from environmentally conscious consumers and meeting planners, and responsible corporate citizenry.
