The iCAN Junior Triathlon Club will host its fourth annual youth triathlon on Sunday, July 19, at Clovis North Educational Center in Fresno.
The youth triathlon is open to youth 6-18 years-of-age, from beginners to experienced youth triathletes.
The swim complex has two 50-meter pools for short and long course swimming. The bike courses are looped and closed to traffic to keep all the athletes safe.
The run courses of varying distances are scenic and looped. Individual awards will be presented to the top five finishers in each age group.
“Youth continue to flock to the sport of triathlon and makeup the fastest growing population within multisport, and because of that, there is a greater demand for youth triathlons everywhere,” says iCAN Junior Triathlon Club Director Todd Waldner. “Finding a good race venue is key, and with Fresno’s population and prime location in the Central Valley, we believe our event will provide an outstanding opportunity for youth to experience the sport of triathlon, regardless of their skill level.”
In 2011, USAT recognized iCAN Junior Triathlon Club as one of the top three youth clubs in the nation amongst 323 youth clubs spread across the country.
