Car shows rolling into town

Car enthusiasts will be happy to hear that three mountain communities will host car shows this summer. Sponsored by Coarsegold Car Care, the Collector Car Appreciation Day Car Show will be held 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday, July 11, at the Coarsegold Historic Village. Hot August Night Classic Car Show & Street Party will be held in downtown North Fork, 5-8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 8. In addition to the cars, there will be an art show, live music, a BMX show, craft, food and information booths. The event is sponsored by Madera County District 5 Supervisor Tom Wheeler, North Fork Napa Autoparts, and K&B Autoparts. Details: (559) 877-2410.

Hot Wasuma Nights, a Hot Rod and Classic Car Show, courtesy of the Wasuma PTA, will be held 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, August 22, at Wasuma Elementary School. In addition to cars, there will be raffles, with monies raised going to the Wasuma PTA. There is a $25 registration. Details (559) 760-1372.
