Organizers are gearing up for the opening day of the 5th Annual Oakhurst Farmers’ Market held every Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. at True Value Homecenter, 40596 Westlake Drive (on Hwy 49), beginning May 7 and running into early fall.
“Like many other communities across the country, we found residents of Oakhurst want locally grown fresh produce, prepared foods and hand-crafted products. They appreciate knowing where their food comes from and buying fresh/ buying local is one of the best ways to follow that trend. Shopping the Oakhurst Farmers’ Market is a fun way to see your neighbors and pick up healthy food at the same time,” said Theresa Bryant, one of the members of the Bryant family, owners of True Value Homecenter, about the growing interest in the event.
The market will feature everything from vegetables, stone fruit, berries, eggs, honey, artisan goods, preserves and much more. So far this year, the market has expanded to 27 booths and organizers are hoping to bring in local entertainment, along with new features showcasing recipes using what is fresh and available each week.
The market is open free of charge to the public and participating vendors.
Market organizers are always on the lookout for new growers, artisans and entertainment to keep the market exciting and growing. If you are interested in more information, you can call the True Value Homecenter at 559-683-7117 and ask for Danielle.
