Fatal motorcycle accident off 41

On Thursday, April 30 at approximately 7:38 p.m., the 19-year-old driver of a 1999 Kawasaki motorcycle died due to blunt force trauma after his vehicle collided with a tree.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the Coarsegold resident was traveling at an unknown rate of speed, northbound on Highway 41 south of Coyote Hollow Lane, when he attempted to turn his vehicle onto Coyote Hollow Lane. Due to the vehicle’s high rate of speed, the driver was unable to maintain control subsequently colliding with a tree. The driver was then ejected from the vehicle.

The driver’s name was not released pending notification of kin. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
