The Golden Chain Theatre will be holding auditions for “Bertha the Beautiful Typewriter Girl,” a modern day melodrama,” 6 - 8 p.m., April 13 and 14, at the theatre, 42130 Highway 41.
Filled with the raging conflict between “Good” and “Evil,” this is an hilarious modern-day (1940s time period) melodrama about desperate Daniel Desmond and his vile attempts to betray Bertha, the beautiful typewriter girl. Four female and six male parts will be filled.
Additional auditions for several vaudeville-type acts will be held 6 - 8 p.m., April 15.
Interested parties are asked to come to this audition prepared to perform a short comedy skit, singing or dancing act from the 1940s time period, such as snippets from I Love Lucy, Three Stooges, Laurel and Hardy, Andrews Sisters, Shirley Temple, and Fred Astaire.
“Bertha the Beautiful Typewriter Girl” will be performed at 7 p.m., Friday, and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday throughout the month of June at the Golden Chain Theatre.
