On March 15, at about 6 p.m., a 44-year-old Coarsegold woman, was driving a 1998 Volkswagon Passat eastbound on Mandy Lane, east of Highway 41 at an estimated speed of 45 m.p.h. in a 25 m.p.h. zone. According to the California Highway Patrol, Stacie Winn was driving under the influence of alcohol, when she lost control of her vehicle, leaving the north side of the road and colliding with a large rock.
CHP officers said Winn was not wearing a seatbelt, and as a result of the collision, sustained major injuries to include multiple fractures. She was flown by air ambulance to CRMC Fresno. Her two teenage passengers, 16 and 13, were wearing seatbelts and sustained minor injuries. They were transported by Sierra Ambulance to CRMC Fresno, were treated and released.
The CHP reported that Winn was arrested for being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision; she is listed in serious, but stable condition.
