In a feel good story with a happy ending, the pony reported missing Monday, March 9, has been found.
Image, a family pet belonging to Mathew and Jachie Cornell, is a therapy horse purchased eight months ago for their 4-year-old daughter, Carma, who is currently fighting cancer.
According to the Cornell’s, the 32-inch tall pony, went missing from their home on Dale Lane around 1 a..m Monday morning. After waking up like any other morning things became anything but ordinary when the Cornells went to feed the family pet only to find Image missing.
Initially reports came in that the pony was taken, as there were no signs of escape and several witnesses reported seeing a horse/pony walking down Crane Valley Road (Road 426) early this morning.
The horse was found by a local resident around 4 p.m. just a few miles away on Rose Bud Way. Aside from a little exhaustion, coming from a long walk, the pony seemed in normal health and was no more worse for the wear and was returned to her loving owner, Carma.
“We are thankful that we were able to local her without issue. I want to thank everyone for looking. There were a lot of people taking time off to help us and I just want to say thanks,” Mathew said.
