Emerald Duo concert

The Emerald Duo, violinist Susan Doering and Dieter Wulfhorst, cellist, will perform 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30, at Sierra Vista Presbyterian Church.

The concert is free and the program will feature compositions by Breval, Massonneau, Schroter, Stumpff, and Sowash.

Murder Mystery

An elegant murder mystery three-course dinner will be offered Feb. 13-14 at the Golden Chain Theatre. “Murderous Crossing takes place in 1923 on a cruse ship as it crosses the English Channel and showcases a quirky cast.

Tickets are $40 per person (not including alcoholic beverages). Cocktails served at 5:30 p.m., dinner show at 6 p.m..

Former Israel ambassador will speak in Coarsegold Feb. 8

Yoram Ettinger, former ambassador from Israel, will speak at 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 8 at the Yosemite Lakes Community Church.

Ettinger did his graduate studies at UCLA and undergraduate at UTEP, served as Minister for Congressional Affairs at Israel’s Embassy in Washington (with the rank of ambassador), Israel’s Consul General in Houston, and Director of Israel's Government Press Office.

He is an insider on U.S.-Israel relations, Mid-East politics and overseas investments in Israel’s high tech arena. He is also a consultant to members of Israel’s Cabinet and Knesset, regularly briefs U.S. legislators and their staff on Israel’s contribution to vital U.S. interests, the root causes of international terrorism, and on other issues of bilateral concern.

Ettinger’s Op-Ed pieces have been published in Israel and in the U.S., and he has been interviewed on Israeli and American TV and radio. He is the editor of Straight From The Jerusalem Cloakroom and Boardroom, newsletters on issues of national security and overseas investments in Israel’s high-tech arena.

Western Dance Class

Beginning Feb. 2, 2015, western dance classes will be held every Monday, 6-8 p.m. at the Coarsegold Community Center. Singles and couples are welcome.

Cost is $4 for Coarsegold Community Center members, and $5 for others.
