T-shirts thanking all the people and agencies that helped save Oakhurst during the Aug. 18 Junction Fire, are currently on sale with all proceeds going to Paid Call Firefighters Supporters.
The fundraising idea came from Yosemite High’s Emma Reda, who is selling the t-shirts for her senior project.
“We ordered 160 shirts and have sold about 100 so far,” Reda said. “I came up with the idea because I know the Paid Call Firefighters, also called volunteers, can use help in paying for equipment and fees for training classes.”
To guarantee the success of the the project, 26 area businesses and organizations contributed $100 each to purchase the shirts.
“I hope to have all the t-shirts sold by Dec. 31, because we want to distribute the funds to all the fire stations in Eastern Madera County on Jan. 1,” Reda said.
The long-sleeve shirts come in small to XXXL and in youth sizes medium and large. Large and small window stickers are are available for $5 and $10. The artwork for the t-shirts and stickers was contributed by Steve Montalto.
To purchase one of the t-shirts, contact Reda at (559) 760-7687.
