Golden Hills Dental in Coarsegold held their third annual free dental day last Saturday. The three owners/dentists (Dr. Travis Kendall, Dr. Jacob Geyer, and Dr. Zach Worsley) and three dental hygienists were onhand to offer either a free cleaning, filling or extraction to the estimated 100 who began lining up early.
Michael Knecht waited with girlfriend Sebrina Palacios and daughter, Kadence, age 6. “We just need fillings,” Knecht said, “but this would be unaffordable for us otherwise. We don’t have insurance that covers this kind of thing through our jobs.”
Lois Brown of Coarsegold called it “a real blessing. Times are tough and it’s great that these dentists are willing to help people like us out.” Lois and her husband, Lorin, have medical insurance, but can’t afford dental coverage.
“This really has become our favorite day of the year. It is an honor to give back to our community that has been such a great support to us,” Geyer said.
“We truly enjoy being able to help out so many people in need of dental care,” added Kendall, “who may not otherwise be able to get these services. Knowing that we are making a difference in peoples’ lives makes the effort well worth it.”
