Requesting house checks from Citizens on Patrol

With the Holidays fast approaching and families making plans to spend days away from home with loved ones, Sheriff John Anderson says now is the time to consider submitting a request to have a Citizen on Patrol volunteer to keep watch while you’re away.

Among their countless duties, Citizen on Patrol (COP) volunteers, conduct house checks. The Madera County Sheriff’s Office provides this free service to all Madera County homeowners.

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office urges everyone planning trips to fill out a Vacation House Check form.

To help prepare our volunteers in advance of your departure date, Vacation House Check forms should be turned in least seven days prior to the homeowner’s scheduled leave date.

Forms are available at both Sheriff’s Headquarters (14143 Road 28, Madera), and the Sheriff’s Substation (48267 Liberty Drive, Oakhurst).

For more information, residents can call Community Service Officer Jo Ann Evans at 559-658-2555.
