Miller’s Landing Resort is hosting a tri-tip barbecue for the families that have lost their homes or been have been affected by the fire at 6 p.m. tonight, Friday, Sept. 19. They will be also be collecting gift cards (Raley’s, Vons, Target, Wal Mart, gas cards etc.) to donate to the families.
“For those that would like to help, they can donate a $20 gift card and receive a free tri-tip dinner,” said Michelle Miller. “Our hearts are breaking for the many families that have lost their homes and cherished possessions in this devastating fire. We hope to be able to help a little with the process of re-building their lives and just show love and support during this difficult time.”
Miller’s was originally going to hold their annual end of summer party Friday with fireworks, but those plans were cancelled in light of the fire.
A second fire relief fundraiser, “Unity on the Green,” will also be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Queen’s Inn by the River, 41139 Highway 41. A $10 cover charge and a silent auction will benefit those who lost their homes or had their homes damaged by the fire.
Jean Butterfield and Good Medicine will provide music and those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on.
Wine from Idle Hour Winery and beer from South Gate Brewing Co. will be available for purchase.
From now until Sept. 28, the Forks Resort at Bass Lake will be contributing to the Courtney Fire relief by offering free Forks Burgers from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. to Firefighters and anyone who lost their home in the Courtney Fire. In addition all proceeds from this weekends sales (Sept. 20 and 21) will be donated to the American Red Cross on behalf of the Courtney Fire victims.
Bass Lake Watersports and Supernaw’s BBQ will host a day at the lake for all families affected by the Courtney Fire, and the firefighters, beginning at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 28, at Bass Lake Watersports (in the Pines Village).
Come enjoy some barbecue and a little fun on the water with Queen rides, swimming and tubing.
