Cal Fire announced it will be taking homeowners effected by the Courtney Fire on a ride along through the damaged area. At 2 p.m. residents whose homes have been directly effected can meet with members of Cal Fire at the Oakhurst Sub Station located on West Lake Drive across from True Value.
Bass Lake homeowners and Bass Lake Realty are offering temporary to long term housing to families that lost their homes in the Courtney Fire.
“Many of our vacation rental homeowners have generously offered to assist members of our community affected by this disaster,” said Steve Welch, owner/broker of Bass Lake Realty.Bass Lake Realty is encouraging anyone that was displaced by the fire, to call Jan Ramos or Christina Adams at (559) 642-3600, to discuss available options.
In light of the Courtney Fire that has devastated the Bass Lake area, Miller’s Landing Resort is hosting a tri-tip barbecue for the families that have lost their homes or been have been affected by the fire at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19. They will be also be collecting gift cards (Raley’s, Vons, Target, Wal Mart, gas cards etc.) to donate to the families.
“For those that would like to help, they can donate a $20 gift card and receive a free tri-tip dinner,” said Michelle Miller. “Our hearts are breaking for the many families that have lost their homes and cherished possessions in this devastating fire. We hope to be able to help a little with the process of re-building their lives and just show love and support during this difficult time.”
Miller’s was originally going to hold their annual end of summer party Friday with fireworks, but those plans were cancelled in light of the fire.
A second fire relief fundraiser, “Unity on the Green,” will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at Queen’s Inn by the River, 41139 Highway 41. A $10 cover charge and a silent auction will benefit those who lost their homes or had their homes damaged by the fire.
Jean Butterfield and Good Medicine will provide music and those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit on.
Wine from Idle Hour Winery and beer from South Gate Brewing Co. will be available for purchase.Insurance assistance
