It’s a big time in the old town when Oakhurst celebrates its 18th Annual Mountain Heritage Days at the community’s original site of Fresno Flats. Locals and residents alike join in Friday, Sept. 19 and Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, to honor the area’s rich history with food and fun for all ages, showcasing turn-of-the-century life in these parts.
The event kicks off on Friday evening, Sept. 19 with vendors, food booths, a silent auction and much more. The annual parade, led by Yosemite’s Mounted Patrol, takes place on Saturday morning at 10:00 am with floats, marching bands and vintage cars. The parade route travels approximately 1.5 miles from Yosemite High School down School Road, turns right onto Crane Valley Road and right again onto Golden Oak Drive, where it finishes.
After the parade, spend the day perusing craft and vendor booths, have lunch, visit the bake sale, place bids on silent-auction items, tour Fresno Flats’ historic buildings. To cap off the day, listen to live entertainment, enjoy a glass of wine at the wine reception and dine on perfectly-prepared BBQ ribs or salmon.
