Possible cross contamination to Oakhurst Mobile Home Estates water supply

An unknown substance has been added to the drinking water supplied by the Oakhurst Mobile Home Estates due to a recent Cross Connection at water line from a septic system. The California Department of Health Services, Madera County Health Department, and Oakhurst Mobile Home Estates water system are advising residents to not to use the tap water for drinking and cooking until further notice.

Do not drink your water:

Failure to follow this advisory could result in illness.

What should I do?

Do not drink your water - use bottled water instead. Bottled water should be used for all drinking (including baby formula and juice), brushing teeth, washing dishes, making ice and food preparation until further notice.

Do not try and treat the water yourself. Boiling, freezing, filtering, adding chlorine or other disinfectants, or letting water stand will not make the water safe.

Options:

The sheriff's office says it will inform the public when tests show that the water is safe again. The sheriff's office expects to resolve the problem within the next couple of days.
