Vigil held for lost firefighter

A flashlight vigil will be held for Token Adams at Bass Lake, recreation point on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.

Members of the community are asked to come and show there support for the the family of the New Mexico firefighter who went missing Friday.

A Yosemite High graduate and former resident of Coarsegold, Adams, 41, is missing in the mountains of New Mexico.

Adams, a firefighter, used to work for the Bass Lake Ranger District and was a member of the Kings River Hot Shot crew.

He was working for the Santa Fe National Parks Jemez Ranger District Forest Service when he and two other firefighters set out on ATV's Aug. 30 to investigate a threat of fire caused by lighting strikes, and Adams never made it back to the command post.

About 300 volunteers, search and rescue teams and firefighters have been looking for him.

Adams has a wife, young son and a baby due soon.
