Nine-foot carved bear delivered to Oakhurst

Corey Andrews guides the nine-foot carved bear as crane operator Josh Nott, owner of Rock Wonders, prepares to place the bear on a concrete pedestal on the south-west corner of Highway 41 and 49 Friday morning. The bear was delivered from Madera to Oakhurst by Nott and Randy Papike, owner of Papike Construction. The bear, carved by Oakhurst resident Ryan Demeusey, was acquired with funds provided by the Eastern Madera County Chamber of Commerce Foundation and is part of a community beautification project.
