The Children’s Museum of the Sierra annual Family Carnival is Saturday, June 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be games, crafts, special visitors, events, food and more, according to the museum.
Admission to the museum on the day of the carnival is free with purchase of tickets (50 cents each) for the carnival events.
The museum was founded in 1995, opened in July 1997 and has been at its Oakhurst location (49269 Golden Oak Drive) since February 2000. It’s for ages 2-12 and their families, providing hands-on exhibits and programs designed to encourage visitors to learn by doing, imagining, creating and making choices.
The museum says it averages 1,000 visitors per month.
It’s a nonprofit that generates funding by private contributions and earned income from membership, admission fees, grants, gift shop sales and special events.
