Seib-Nelson announce engagement

Dustin Seib and Sarah Nelson have announced their engagement, and are planning an Oct. 10 wedding in Sacramento.

Seib, a 2005 Yosemite High School graduate, is the son of Tom and Christine Nicolulis of Oakhurst, and Nelson, a 2006 graduate of Morro Bay High School, is the daughter of Paul and Suzy Nelson of Los Osos.

The couple met while both were working in San Luis Obispo.

Seib attended Fresno City College college, prior to moving to San Luis Obispo where he spent three years serving as an assistant manager of a Tahoe Joe’s restaurant. He currently works for Michale Communcations Services.

Nelson graduated from San Francisco state, in 2011, and is now a pre-school teacher.

Following their wedding, the couple will reside in San Luis Obispo.

The couple are big San Francisco Giants fans, and love exploring breweries.

Mountain Area students receive degrees

Two Mountain Area residents recently graduated from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City.

Laurel Stewart of Bass Lake received her Bachelor of Science in nursing, and Cynthia Elm of North Fork received her MBA in management and strategy.

WGU was founded in 1997 by 19 U.S. governors with a mission to expand access to high-quality higher education, and in 2000, the university awarded its first degree. At its August 15 commencement, the university awarded 5,292 undergraduate and 3,220 graduate degrees in business, information technology, K-12 teacher education, and healthcare professions, including nursing.
