Oakhurst students graduate

Madera and Oakhurst Community College Center’s held their 19th Annual Ceremony on Thursday, May 21, in the Madera Center amphitheater as more than 245 students received an Associate of Arts and Science degrees as well as Certificates of Completion, Achievement and Programs from the college.

Dr. Cecilia Massetti, Madera County Superintendent of Schools, was the commencement speaker.

The Oakhurst students who are now graduates are Darla J. Bailey, Robert William Ellis Jr., Jeremy T. Guilliams, Jeremy D. Herr and Cherylle M. Redmon.

Reedley College held its Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 22, on the Reedley College South Lawn.

More than 900 students received an Associate of Arts and Science degrees as well as Certificates of Completion and Achievement from the college.

The 2015 Distinguished Alumnus for the ceremony was the Honorable Anthony W. Ishii. The student commencement speaker was Julio Pinto, a Sanger High graduate. This year’s Student of Note was Carlos Romero of Kingsburg.

Oakhurst students who are now Reedley College graduates include Elias Nathaniel Lilly and Matt Starnes, Amanda J. Aguilar, Megan R. Rascoe and Eric I. Reid of Coarsegold; David K. Mellon of Ahwahnee, and Tia J. Hartsock of North Fork.
