On April 25, Coarsegold resident Heather Marie Stieler was arrested and booked for allegedly embezzling $42,000 from her longtime employer, Fullmer’s Appliance Repair in Oakhurst.

Madera County authorities said sheriff's detectives were contacted in November by the proprietor of the family-owned business regarding possible embezzlement.

After a months-long investigation, detectives said the business' bookkeeper, Stieler, had taken the missing funds.

Stieler, 46, was arrested and booked on felony charges related to grand theft, forgery and embezzlement.
