Sheriff's Log: K9 locates flashlight with a false bottom and a meth pipe

The Madera County Sheriff’s Office received 66 calls during the week of April 23-29. Below is a sampling of those calls for the Mountain Area.

Oakhurst

April 23: A deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Golden Oak Loop for the theft of fuel and a gas cap from a van. There are no suspects or investigative leads in this case.

April 23: A deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 49 in regards to an attempted vehicle theft. During the investigation evidence was located and collected.

April 24: A deputy was dispatched to the 49000 block of Chapel Hill Drive regarding vandalism. There are no suspects witnesses or investigative leads in this case.

April 24: A deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 in regards to an intoxicated subject causing problems. The subject was contacted. The subject had an outstanding arrest warrant and resisted the deputy. The subject was taken into custody.

April 25: A deputy made a traffic stop at Highway 41 and Harmony Lane. During the stop the driver was found to be on parole. The passenger who was the owner of the vehicle was under the influence of a controlled substance. A sheriff patrol K9 was called over to search the vehicle. The dog located a controlled substance hidden in the bottom of the flashlight and a meth pipe in a back pack. The driver was cited for being in possession of a controlled substance.

April 27: A deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 49 in regards to a stolen purse. Upon arrival, it was determined that the purse was located by an employee of a nearby business. The purse and its contents were returned to the owner.

April 28: Deputies were dispatched to the 49000 block of Civil Circle Drive regarding a man stumbling and falling down near a bridge. The subject was arrested and booked for being intoxicated in public.

Coarsegold

April 23: Deputies were dispatched to the 47000 block of Skyline Ridge Road regarding a female subject who was caught breaking into a vehicle. The subject was later located by deputies on the 46000 of Skyline Ridge Road. The suspect was arrested for providing false identification and attempted vehicle theft.

April 23: A deputy was dispatched to the 43000 block of Werney Road regarding online purchases with stolen credit cards. There are no suspect or investigative leads in this case.

April 28: Deputies took a telephonic call regarding theft of horse tack from a barn in the 32000 block of Road 400.

Ahwahnee

April 29: A deputy was dispatched to the 44000 block of Metcalf Gap Road in regards to a vandalism report. Currently, there are no suspect, witnesses or investigative leads.

North Fork

April 29: A deputy conducted a routine vehicle check in the Manzanita Lake area which resulted in numerous player club cards belonging to different people located in a subjects possession. A report taken and the cards seized.
