According to the California Highway Patrol, at approximately 3:28 p.m. on Highway 49, just north of Ahwahnee Hills Regional Park, an unloaded Kenworth Leavtit's Freight Service logging truck was heading southbound towards Oakhurst.

As the truck came around a sharp bend the trailer began to drift into the northbound lane. The empty trailer struck two northbound vehicles, a Ford F250 belonging to Arbor Works Company, driven by an unidentified male from Coarsegold, and a 2002 Nissian Ultima driven by an unidentified female from Livingston.

The unidentified male driver of the logging truck was a Fresno resident.

Both drivers that were struck by the logging trailer were transported by ambulance for what appeared to be minor injuries.
