Britteny Ford, a Coarsegold resident, was arrested on April 10 for a string of mailbox thefts in the Yosemite Lakes Park area.

Since November, the sheriff's office has received multiple calls regarding theft from mailbox clusters in Coarsegold and due to the recurring nature of these calls they initiated an investigation that led them to a house in the 43000 block of Running Deer Drive.

Detectives assisted by the Sheriff’s Problem Oriented Policing Team, served a search warrant at the location. There deputies located a large quantity of stolen mail linking Ford, 27, to multiple mailbox thefts which occurred between November of 2017 and January of 2018.

Ford was arrested and booked in Madera County Jail for felony identity theft. The investigation remains ongoing, and Ford is expected to face additional theft related charges as the investigation continues.
