According to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, Mark Raymond of Coarsegold was arrested on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges on April 12.
After numerous reports of late night firearm shootings from citizens in the area the Sheriff's Problem Oriented Policing team initiated an investigation. Once they identified Raymond as the suspect they found he was prohibited from owning or possessing firearms.
The deputies served a warrant to Raymond's residence and found multiple firearms including a sawed off shotgun. They also uncovered multiple controlled substances used to make methamphetamine and heroin.
Raymond was arrested and booked for numerous charges including a convicted felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, possession of a sawed off shotgun, possession of a firearm and controlled substances and possession of a controlled substances.
Raymond remains in custody.
