On June 25, the Oakhurst Community Center will open its doors at 5:30 p.m. for all-you-can-eat ribs and sides during the 18th Annual Rib Fest.
Five clubs will vie for the title of rib champion, including: Sierra Mountain Lions, Noon Rotary, Sunrise Rotary, Sierra Oakhurst Kiwanis, and the Oakhurst California Elks Lodge 2724.
The dishes will be numbered, so guests can vote without bias on whose ribs are the most succulent. Sides will include beans and coleslaw from Soroptimist International of the Sierras, as well as warm garlic bread and desserts from Mt. Community Women.
Tickets are $25 per person, and $10 for kids ages 10 and under. They are available at the door, at Dorsey’s Hallmark Shop, Oakhurst Giftworks, and from Dottie Lee at (559) 683-5119.
County supervisor Tom Wheeler will act as master of ceremonies, with help from Rib Fest chairperson Peggy Potter.
Door prizes, raffle prizes, a live silent auction, and a 50/50 cash prize will also be available during the event.
