Sounds of Solstice this Saturday

The second Sounds of Solstice 2015 will be held Saturday, June 20, at Oakhurst Community Park. Sounds of Solstice is an annual event that takes place on the closest Saturday to the Summer Solstice.

The 2015 Honorary Mayor will be announced at this family-friendly music festival, which will feature live entertainment from musicians that travel several hundred miles to play for us, as well as many local talented artists.

Concertgoers have the pleasure of listening to recognizable rock hits, original compilations, and solo performances that are sure to keep the crowd on their feet.

Musical guests include Dave Henderson Group (3 p.m.), Executive Rockers (4 p.m.), Richfield (5 p.m.), Ten Ton Chicken (6 p.m.), and Green Machine (7 p.m.).

Attendees can also enjoy shopping with area vendors that will be selling jewelry, clothing, crafts and much more.

Adults can enjoy alcoholic beverages from our local brewery, South Gate Brewing Co. and local wine from Idle Hour Winery.

Dinners, snacks and nonalcoholic drinks will be available to purchase from several food vendors.

Children can enjoy jumping in the bounce house and competing in several fun contests, in addition to all of the regular activities the park has to offer.

Bring anything with you that you would normally take to the park. This can include a comfortable chair to lounge in, a canopy for shade, a football to throw around, a kite to fly, a squirt gun to keep cool, the family dog to play fetch with and even an ice chest with snacks and cold water. No outside alcohol will be permitted.
