Learning recycling techniques and a community road clean-up will be two of the many activities at the North Fork Earth Day event, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., April 18, at old mill site, 57911 Old Mill Site Road 225.
Information from the U.S. Forest Service, North Fork Rancheria Environmental Protection Department, conservation groups, Eco-friendly products, and a solar power demonstration will be available, along with food, baked goods, community rummage sale, arts and crafts booths, BMX bike demonstrations, and musical entertainment throughout the day.
“This event will provide a time to socialize, network, and pick-up a lot of educational information from the various exhibitors that will be at the event,” said Katie Parra, event coordinator. “We encourage people to bring their children and learn how to keep our planet healthy.”
Keep Our Mountains Beautiful will be coordinating a community road clean-up 9 a.m - 4 p.m.
The Earth Day event is being sponsored by the Foundation for Resource Conservation and the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians of California.
On April 17, the North Fork Rancheria will be hold an office equipment sale, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the North Fork Rancheria Community Center, 56901 Kunugib, Road 221. Items for sale will include large desks, doors, office filing equipment, folding tables, and chairs.

Another roadside litter cleanup day will be held on Saturday, April 15 from 8 a.m. to noon in Coarsegold, North Fork and Oakhurst.
