Calling all artists

The call to artists for the Sierra Art Trails is underway. The submission deadline is May 1. To review exhibit guidelines and to download an application: sierraarttrails.org/submission_guidelines.htm.

MALCO

The Mountain Area Literacy Council (MALCO) will hold its monthly meeting 1:30 p.m., April 9, in the Oakhurst Library community room. All tutors and anyone interested in promoting adult literacy are urged to attend.

Celebrating Easter

The Children’s Museum of the Sierra will hold an Easter Crafts and Surprises event, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., Saturday, April 4. Stuffed animals for visitors will be lovingly provided by The Bear Club.

Wood Carvers pancake breakfast

The Kiwanis Wood Carvers will host a pancake breakfast from 7-10 a.m. Sunday, April 19 at the Oakhurst Community Center. Cost of the event is $7 for adults and $3 for children (5-12). Kids 5 and under eat free.

Classic country & rock festival

To benefit the Golden Chain Theatre, a Classic Country & Rock Music Festival will be held 3 p.m.-1 a.m., April 18 at the theatre. The festival will feature Chris Curtice & The Wild Horses, The Bryan Vickers Band, RockTherapy of Oakhurst, and dozens of country music legends.
