Songwriters looking to work on their craft and mingle among other musical artists will have the opportunity to do so at the Yosemite Songwriting Retreat set for Oct 5-8 at the Yosemite Bug Rustic Mountain Resort in Midpines.
Open to anyone 18 years or older, the retreat will give attendees opportunities to learn from a number of renowned songwriters, and also provide professional recording and performance opportunities. The teaching staff includes recording artists Laura Love, Joe Craven, David Jacobs-Strain and six others.
“The Yosemite Songwriting Retreat has created an environment and set a table for you to bring your stories out onto paper so that they may be reborn as song with the help of a nurturing community of like-minded folks who have your back every step of the way,” Craven said.
The tuition fee for the retreat is $400 and accommodation in the resort for the weekend costs $226 per person.
The accommodation cost includes eight meals from the resort’s gourmet cafe, as well as discounts on spa services such as yoga classes, a hot tub and a sauna.
The weekend will begin with a public faculty concert at the resort on Friday, Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. Craven, Love and Jacobs-Strain will headline the concert, with tickets priced at $10 and open to all ages.
