The annual concert following the Yosemite Jazz Guitar and Bass Workshop is Thursday, June 28 in Oakhurst.

Twenty-four jazz guitarists and eight bass players representing the United States, Canada, Japan and Austria will perform at Queen’s Inn Wine & Beer Garden, 41193 Highway 41 behind the Sweetwater Steakhouse in Oakhurst.

Admission is free. The event runs 7-10 p.m.

The concert is the grand finale of the 17th annual workshop, held June 24-29 at Evergreen Conference Center in Oakhurst.

Local guitarist Rich Severson runs the workshop sponsored by his guitar education website, GuitarCollege.com. Severson and his resident artist/bass instructor Todd Johnson from Phoenix (www.ToddJohnsonMusic.com) welcome this year’s guest guitar instructors Pat Kelley from Los Angeles and Mike Dana of the Fresno City College music department. Both guitarists have been Grammy nominees and teach the world over.

Fresno’s leading jazz drummer, Gary Newmark, will join the group to complete the rhythm section. Featured performances will include the workshop participants and instructors through the evening and will conclude with a jam session with the instructors.

Details: Rich or Gail Severson, 559-642-2597.
