The River Creek Women’s Golf Club recently sponsored an 18-hole scramble tournament to celebrate the course and club’s 25th anniversary.
Players were surprised with some “silly holes” where oven mitts and a shovel were required on the green instead of their putters.
“It was hilarious watching scratch golfers muff shots and made us appreciate the good equipment we have,” noted one observer.
The tournament was organized by members of the RCWGC, chaired by Cathy Dalhed. Jullie Vasquez and Sandi Hart, along with several club members assisted.
Prizes for Closest to the Pin (both men and women), tournament winners, door prizes and drawings were awarded following a luncheon.
First place team of the Anniversary Scramble with a score of 64 were Louise Knight, Ted Youman, Jim Gefords and Ray Ossenkop. The second place team, with a 66, was Bill Yaley, Arlene Yaley, Jenny Jones and Larry Beard.
The third place team with a score of 69 included Jimmy May, Angela Peters, Candace Flamang and Ed Trejo.
