The 40th homecoming week at Yosemite High School culminated Friday with the crowning of Rose Curley and Nathan Solomon as 2015 Homecoming Queen and King during halftime of the Yosemite-Washington Union football game on Raupp Field.
The queen’s court included freshmen Cale Sweeney and Alyssa Airey, sophomores Bryce Talbot and Emilie Neff, and juniors Aaron Arroyo and Morgan Ferguson.
During homecoming week, YHS hosted area elementary school students for a rally, and an on-campus parade, with FFA winning the float contest.
“For the 40th anniversary of the school, we had phenomenal Homecoming Week activities,” said Tammy Thacker, YHS student activities director.
YHS students were encouraged to participate in fun dress-up days and a variety of contests last week leading up to Friday’s Homecoming game, including pajama day on Monday, duct tape day Tuesday, Storybook day Wednesday, squad day Thursday, and spirit day on Friday.
The dress-ups ended Friday with a Spirit Day, where students sported their Badger blue at an on-campus homecoming parade and rally.
