Vivian Avyce Taylor died Feb. 11, 2016 at the age of 83. She was born May 26, 1932 in Clarendon, Texas, to Vinson Lee and Frankie Leona.
Mrs. Taylor was editor and writer for the Fresno Bee from 1983-98, and was an English/Drama teacher for Yosemite High School from 1978-81. She also served as faculty editor for the school paper.
She enjoyed oil painting, hiking in the High Sierra, and theater (acting, singing and set design). She was involved with the Golden Chain Theatre, and was affiliated with the National Writers Club, and the Patrons of the Arts in Fresno.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her children, Jeni Sue Wilburn of McKinleyville, and Greg Amerind and wife Carrie of Tempe, Arizona; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and brother David and wife Cindy of Amarillo, Texas.
A memorial service will be held this summer. Date and location to be determined at a later time.
