George Edward Priest died Jan. 14, 2016 at the age of 90. He was born in Barnard, Vermont, Jan. 24, 1925 to Bernice Addie and Robert Earle Priest.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Field Lineman from July 1943 to March 1946, and was a member of the Artisan Lodge of Winchendon, Mass. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service in North Fork, retiring in 1975.
Following his retirement, he worked as a foreman at the Bonnie B Ranch in North Fork for several years.
Mr. Priest was active in baseball and football, enjoyed working in the woods, reading almost anything non-fiction, and outdoor activities like backpacking and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his wife, Betty.
He is survived by his sons Edward, Richard, and Roger; four grandchildren, one great grandson; and sisters Reta Warman and Phyliss Ward.
Burial services will be held, 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 21, at the North Fork Cemetery.
