Michael Carl Hayden Abdo died Dec. 10, 2015 at the age of 70. He was born June 2, 1945 in Los Angeles, to Phyllis and Francis Hayden.
An Oakhurst resident for 32 years, Mr. Abdo served in the U.S. Army from 1965-67, and was a lifetime member of the VFW. After moving to the Oakhurst area, he owned and operated the Oakhurst Laundromat, and also worked for several propane companies.
A fan of classic cars, Mr. Abdo also enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, bird watching, and country music. He won the title of Mountain Man during the 1984 Sierra Mountaineer Days Beard Contest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and stepfather Leo Abdo.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janet; his children, Jennifer Moon and spouse David of Lake Elsinore, Rebecca Arneson and spouse Jerry of Balch Camp, Brian Abdo of Sanger; one grandson; his brothers David Abdo and Patrick Hayden, and his sister Diane Adams.
