Mary Sheehan Walker Corrado died Sept. 25, 2015, at the age of 87. She was born Oct. 21, 1927 in Boone, Iowa, to Frank and Kelpia Grosnickle Sheehan.
An Oakhurst resident for 10 years, she taught home economics in Palo Alto schools from the mid 1960s to mid 1980s, and was named Teacher of the Year at Terman Junior High School in Palo Alto.
Mrs. Corrado was a volunteer for a Crisis Pregnancy Center, Peer Counseling Leader, volunteer at the Sugar Pine Thrift Shop, Sierra Pines Church, and the church’s Ladies Bible Study.
She enjoyed sewing, crafting, color analysis and image consulting, hosting and entertaining.
Mrs. Corrado was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Kay Hughes, Maurice Sheehan, Jean Minarsich, and Bill Sheehan, and second husband, Robert Corrado.
She is survived by children Linda Kelly and spouse Leonard of Fish Camp, Robin Duggan and spouse Kevin of Mountain View, Marcy McCleary and spouse Jim of College Station, Texas, Dan Walker and spouse Sally of Oakhurst; stepdaughters Laura Tedder and spouse Rob of Palo Cedro, Candy Landers and spouse Rob, Lawrenceville, Georgia; siblings J. Robert Sheehan, Joe Sheehan, and Joanne Sandholm; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m., Nov. 14, at Sierra Pines Church in Oakhurst.
