Willie Steven Stanphill died Sept. 10, 2015 at the age of 53. He was born May 16, 1962 in Culver City to Jay and Glenna Stanphill.
After graduation from Yosmite High School, Mr. Stanphill attended Fresno City College and The Academy for Dramatic Arts in Pasadena.
An English and Math teacher, he was active in dramatic high school productions, and with the Golden Chain Theatre.
Mr. Stanphill enjoyed performing in comedy, improv, and theater productions, and making puppets for family, schools, and for a production company’s videos.
He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother of Lodi, two children; his siblings, Jim of Clovis, Scott of Fresno, and Lila of Sacramento.
A celebration of life was held in Southern California on Sept. 27. A memorial service was held Oct. 3 in Bass Lake.
