Bruce Allan Burton died July 24, 2015 at the age of 81. He was born July 1, 1934 in Oneonta, New York to Howard and Ruth.
Mr. Burton, a 17-year Ahwahnee resident, joined the U.S. Air Force in 1951, and later joined the Alameda County Sheriff’s Department in 1964, retiring after 24 years.
He volunteered his time at his church, tutored children through the SPICE program, and volunteered at Manna House. He enjoyed coffee time with friends and history, especially the Civil and Revolutionary wars, and WWII.
Mr. Burton was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Rex and Neil, and sister, Helen.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Madeline; children, Larry and wife Eileen of Pasadena, Dan and wife Heather of Livermore, Mark and wife Heidi of San Dimas, and Kathy of Golden Valley, Ariz.; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held 11 a.m., Aug. 8, at Christ Church Anglican (43140 Highway 41, Oakhurst).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Christ Church Anglican.
