Merrill Keith “Sid” Sidman died May 17, 2015, at the age of 90. He was born Feb. 27, 1925, in Blackwell, Okla., to Kenneth and Veva. He served as a lieutenant in the Air Force during WWII, and then worked as a pilot, traveling the world.
Mr. Sidman moved his family from Pleasanton to Oakhurst in 1975, and retired in 1983. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home, music, computer, operating a ham radio, and watching the wildlife in his backyard.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo. He is survived by daughter, Stephanie Norgard and husband Paul of Clovis, son, Stephen of Ahwahnee, and granddaughters Varonica and Kendra Priest.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., May 29, at Oakhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Red Cross of Central California, redcross.org/local/ca/central.
