Maurice Dean Slack, of Coarsegold, died April 23, 2015 at the age of 78. He was born Sept. 18, 1936 in Seymour, Mo., to parents Marvin and Beulah Slack.
Mr. Slack was a member of the United States Air Force and was stationed at Lowery Air Force Base in Colorado where he earned the rank of Master Sergeant. During his service years, Mr. Slack was the recipient of several medals including the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Air Force Longevity Service Award, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.
Following his retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Slack worked at the post office as a mail carrier for 23 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Slack is survived by his wife, Angela of Coarsegold; children, Stephanie and Patrick Murphy of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Deborah and Jim Hook of Marsh Creek, Id. and step-daughter, Tara of Las Vegas, Nv.; siblings, Evan Slack of Denver, Colo., and Barsha and William Batson of Marshfiled, Mo.
A memorial service was held May 2.
