Gene "Eric" Karr, of Bass Lake, died March 19, 2014 at the age of 67. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Feb. 12, 1947 to Samuel and Georgia Karr.
Mr. Karr was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the State of California for 15 years, and retired as the supervisory cook for the prison system. His hobbies were horses, fishing, bowling and motorcycling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Tilden and Doug; and his nephew, Robert.
Mr. Karr is survived by his wife, Cindy; his daughters, Yvette Karr of Phoenix, Az., Emily Smith and husband Ryan of Atascadero, and Erica Karr, also of Atascadero; foster daughter, Lisa Ginther of Georgia; siblings Judy Gessner of Coeur d'alene, Idaho, Carolyn Villa of Washington state, and Sally Shannon of Atascadero; and grandchildren, Cede, Lexi, Brittani, Bailey, Hanna, Pamela and Austin; and two great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held April 27, 2014 at Santa Margarita Community Park in Santa Margarita.
