From the week of July 24 - July 31, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office responded to 85 reported incidents, with several throughout the Mountain Area focused on theft and disturbances. Below is a summary of some of those reports.
☆ July 24: A robbery within the 50800 block of Road 632 was reported, and two suspects were identified.
☆ July 26: During a bicycle stop in the area of Road 426 and Civic Circle, subject found to be possession of methamphetamine and meth smoking pipe. Subject arrested and booked in Madera County Jail.
☆ July 26: Report of vandalism in the 4000 block of Winding Way.
☆ July 28: Report of man screaming and discharging his firearm in the block of 43000 Badger Hollow. He was later determined to be a danger to the community, and had a revolver in his waist band on his property when deputies contacted him. He was turned over to Emergency Medical Services for a 5150 hold.
☆ July 28: Report of female in the 50000 block of Cedar Valley Drive causing family disturbance. She wanted to get a knife and kill herself. She was placed on 5150 hold and transported to Madera Community Hospital for mental health evaluation.
☆ July 30: Possible vandalism in the 48000 block of Winner’s Circle.
☆ July 24: An out of control subject who had been drinking and causing a disturbance was reported in the 46000 block of Road 417. This male subject was arrested for criminal threats and elder abuse.
☆ July 25: A parent in the 31000 block of Road 416 reported he discovered his daughter is having sex. No arrests made and case forwarded to detectives for review.
☆ July 27: Report of theft in the 34000 block of Memory Lane.
☆ July 28: Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino reported a man in possession of a syringe. The man, who fled on foot, was located on Road 417 near Chukchansi Road, and was found to be in possession of a glass pipe consistent with the use of controlled substances. He was arrested and booked in Madera Jounty Jail.
☆ July 26: Attempted burglary to the Spring Valley Elementary School. Case suspended pending leads.
☆ July 24: A male subject was shoplifting at a North Fork market.
☆ July 27: Report of dispute between mother and son. It was determined that a misdemeanor vandalism was committed by the mother, but victim did not wish to pursue charges. Case closed.
☆ July 29: Report of damages to county property.
☆ July 29: Report of man in the 57000 block of Road 225 making odd statements inside a business. He refused to leave when the reporting party asked him to, but was gone upon arrival of deputies.
