The Madera County Sheriff’s Office received 95 calls during the week of Feb. 5-11. Below is a sampling of those calls for the Mountain Area.
Oakhurst
☆ Feb. 6: A deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 regarding a report of trespassing. During the investigation a male was taken into custody for public intoxication.
☆ Feb. 6: A deputy was dispatched to 40120 Highway 41 in regards to a a drunk person belligerently harassing customers. Suspect was placed under arrest.
☆ Feb. 6: A deputy was dispatched to the 48000 block of Victoria lane, regarding an injured person refusing medical attention. It was later discovered that vandalism and criminal threats had occurred. Suspect was booked..
☆ Feb. 9: A deputy responded to 50000 block of Road 427 regarding a sexual assault. Child Protective Service were called and a W&I 300 hold was place on the victim. A report taken and forwarded to detectives for additional follow up.
☆ Feb. 11: Dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 41 regarding an intoxicated subject. The subject was arrested for being drunk and for a misdemeanor warrant.
Coarsegold
☆ Feb. 7: A deputy was dispatched to the 46000 block of Lucky Lane regarding the theft of a cell phone. Upon arrival an investigation ensued and a suspect was identified.
☆ Feb. 8: A deputy took a phone report for theft of a package from a cluster mail box in Yosemite Springs Parkway area. There were no suspect leads.
☆ Feb. 8: A deputy was dispatched to the area of Victoria Lane and Black Oak River Road for a report of a person yelling out of a white Ford Mustang. The vehicle was found driving in the area and the driver of the vehicle was later arrested for drug related charges and booked.
☆ Feb. 8: A deputy was dispatched to the area of Road 417 and Highway 41 regarding a female jumping in front of traffic. The female was contacted and a protection hold was placed.
☆ Feb. 8: A deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Highway 49 regarding a report of suspicious subjects looking into vehicles. Subjects were contacted and one of the subjects was found to have active warrants out of Mariposa County. Subject was arrested on the warrant and turned over to Mariposa County Sheriff's.
☆ Feb. 8: While conducting a patrol check at the 46000 block of Lucky Lane, a deputy assisted casino security regarding a person who was possibly breaking into a vehicle in the casino parking lot. The subject was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The subject was cited and released at the scene. Casino security also band the subject from the casino.
☆ Feb. 9: A deputy dispatched to the 31000 block of Longview Lane East for a report of valve stem being cuts on a vehicle. There were no suspect leads.
☆ Feb. 9: A deputy dispatched to the 42000 block of Ranger Circle Drive regarding a subject who was bitten by a dog. There was no county violation noted. A report for documentation of a dog bite was forwarded to Animal Control.
☆ Feb. 9: A deputy was dispatched to the 35000 block of Highway 41 to assist EMS on a call of a possible drug overdose. The reporting party advised that a female subject had ingested a handful of prescription drugs and had made suicidal statements. The subject was placed on a mental health evaluation hold and transported to the Madera Community Hospital.
North Fork
☆ Feb. 7: A deputy was dispatched to the 34000 block of Road 274 regarding a family disturbance. Statements were gathered, photos were taken, juvenile was arrested for battery and Elderly abuse and transported to the Madera County Department of Corrections.
☆ Feb. 10: A deputy was dispatched to the area of Road 225 and Road 233 regarding a report of vandalism and graffiti. There were no witnesses or substantial leads.
☆ Feb. 10: A deputy conducted a vehicle stop on Road 222 and Weatherly Lane. The driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence.
